Urban Larsson – 2-part art documentary for Dutch Public TV
A two part documentary on Swedish oil painter Urban Larsson, who received international recognition for his prestigious portrait paintings of the aristocrats. Larsson paints from life models in the tradition of old masters. In the documentary we see him putting the finishing touch on the commissioned life size portraits of Dutch King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima, and we follow several posing sessions of Jan Six, Rembrandt expert and art dealer whose desire to understand the process of portrait led him to commission a painting of himself.
